2008
Junior/ Bay City Central High School Rowing Crew

The Junior / High School Rowing Crew is now open to all interested high school students in the Tri-County Area. This year there is a possibility of extending the program from mid-Jan to mid-June, through the Summer and Fall contingent on funding and participation interest.

The Bay City Rowing Club partners with the Bay Area Family Y for winter training.

The cost of the program ranges from $400 to $800 depending on organization costs and length of the program (yet to be decided). This includes HS membership in the Bay City Rowing Club, annual student membership in the YMCA, regatta and coaching expenses. Scholarships are available for the YMCA membership. Fund-raising will be conducted to help students raise some money to cover these expenses.

Proposed 2008 Program Activities Mid - Jan until the ice melts from the river - 3 to 4 times a week of fitness and rowing training at Bay County YMCA. This includes stretching, fitness exercises, weight and rowing training using the BCRC rowing machines (stored at YMCA during the winter).

Please contact Lora Brehm if you would like more information or to register. (loramoon@sbcglobal.net).
