Each family rower must have a Release of Liability waiver on file each year prior to using the club's equipment.
- Supporting (non-rowing) membership –A special category of membership is available for individuals who wish to support the community activities and programs of the BCRC, but who does not wish to use the rowing facilities. There is no fixed cost for this membership, rather donations are accepted. The Bay City Rowing Club is a 501(c) non-profit organization. No Release of Liability is required for non-rowing members.
- Coxswain - A special category of membership for qualified individuals who agree to act as coxswain for a team boat. The cost is $50 per year.
- Guest Rower - Membership is required to participate in club activities. The club understands, however, that it may take a few sessions before an individual is certain that they will enjoy the benefits of rowing. Coaches are authorized to allow anyone who signs a waiver form to row in a clinic for a few weeks as a no-charge trial member.
