LEARN TO ROW PROGRAM

The Bay City Rowing Club offers a number of opportunities for people to learn to row and to participate in this exciting sport.

In addition to "Learn to Row Days" the Club also offers a more comprehensive 'Introduction to Team Rowing" program beginning this year (2008) on Monday May 5th at 6pm, and continuing every Monday and Wednesday night throughout the season. New rowers are accepted throughout the season. Experienced and beginning rowers attend these group rowing sessions and practice together. Participation in several regattas is planned for 2008 so mark your calendars for June 21st, Detroit Boat House Regatta and July 26th Michigan Invitational in Ann Arbor.

An interested person can participate in team rowing sessions on an introductory basis for just $5 per session for up to three sessions. After three sessions membership in the club is required. Introductory fees can be applied towards club membership. The student is treated as a provisional member of the club for the introductory period.

Members of the club who wish to use club singles for rowing must demonstrate that they are trained and capable of handling a boat safely. The "Introduction to Team Rowing" program is designed to get a new rower to this level of experience.
