CLUB SAFETY POLICIES

Safe rowing is essential. All members must be trained and understand rowing safety before using the club equipment.

SAFETY

• Rowing and use of equipment is open to MEMBERS in good standing ONLY.
  
  
• Members must sign a "Release of Liability" form every year prior to use of the equipment. Release forms are mailed each year to members and are also available at the boathouse. You can also download a form in Acrobat PDFformat.
  
  
• Members must have demonstrated knowledge of boat handling, boat safety, boathouse procedures, and rowing ability prior to use of equipment without supervision.
  
  
• Guests are allowed to use club equipment only when supervised by coach or other experienced club member. Approved guests must sign a "Release of Liability" form prior to using equipment.
  
  
• Observe the water temperature in the Spring and Fall. The club policy is that no rowing is allowed if the water temperature is below 50 degrees.
  
  
• Follow the club's sign out and sign out policy, by entering boat use into the log book just inside the boathouse door.
  
  
• Buddy rowing is recommended. Experienced rowers may row solo at their own risk.
  
  
• Learn to swim. Club policy is that all rowers must be swimers.
  
  
• Use common sense!
