On Saturday, April 20 the Bay City Central High School Rowing Crew, and members of the BCRC board made the trip to Grand Rapids, Michigan to participate in the 2002 Grand Rapids High School Invitational Regatta. The event was organized and run by the Forest Hills Central High School Rowing Team from Grand Rapids.

The day was beautiful and the water just right. The organization and execution of the races were execellant. The FHC Crew is to be commended on a job well done.

Stephen Kent of the BCRC took over 1,250 digital photos of the event. A selection of 144 has been assembled and posted on our web site.

The objective of these photo pages is to give a feeling for what a high school regatta is all about. It's a major undertaking involving hundreds of people. The photos we've selected include images of many people and crews; they are not limited to just the Bay City crew.

These pictures are presented in 16 pages, each containing 9 thumbnail images. They are generally in chronological order. You can click on any picture in a thumbnail to see a full size image, which can be printed from your browser.

The photos were all taken with a Sony FD-91 digital camera. We've tried many digital cameras, and this is our favorite. Sony has followed this camera with several updated models, but none of the new ones are as good as the FD-91.

These photos are Copyrighted by Stephen Kent. Members of the crews which participated in the regatta are granted permission to print and distribute these pictures on a non-commercial basis. You may also link from your web site directly to ours if you wish to show these photos to others.
