Summer Schedule

Each summer the Club provides a variety of activities including rowing lessons, open rowing, individual rowing and team rowing. The program is planned in the early spring then tailored based on the interest of members.

The first event of the year is the annual Spring Boat House Clean-up Day which is usually in mid to late April. Members are notified of the exact date by post card or letter.

The annual Learn To Row Day and Open House is held in May or early June. The public is invited to tour the boat house and participate in a short introduction to the sport of rowing. Everyone is offered a chance to get on the water in a "single" training boat or in a "4" or "8" team boat.

Throughout the summer the club offers Introduction to Rowing classes. The schedule and the number of classes is tailored to the number of people who are interested.

All members are welcome to use the boathouse, boats and other equipment at any time. This requires that the member is qualified based on taking the introduction to rowing class or demonstration of rowing knowledge and skill.

The club encourages team rowing and competitive rowing. Each summer one or two crews form and practice together then try to participate in one or more Michigan regattas. Some teams have gone to other states for regattas.
